Nicole M. Sorgini Director of Marketing & Public Relations  
 

Nicole joined the Compass team in 2011. She provides strategic direction related to marketing, public relations, and business development for Compass' portfolio accounts. Nicole's duties include thorough analysis of the accounts' marketing and web operations, creation of marketing guidelines and reports, brand development, and implementation of short and long-term marketing and sales solutions to increase revenues. Nicole also directs the business plan and value proposition development for Compass' portfolio accounts.

Nicole has extensive knowledge in traditional marketing, digital communications, and public relations. Before joining Compass, she worked for Headquarters United States Marine Corps as Social Media Analyst and Webmaster. While there, Nicole developed guidelines, best practices, and standard operating procedures for the headquarters social media team, as well as public affairs offices across the United States, that are still in place today.

Nicole started her career with the New Media department for the Smithsonian American Art Museum. She worked extensively in digital communications, as well as managed content creation for many web projects, including Artful Abe, an online scavenger hunt celebrating Abraham Lincoln's bicentennial. In the past, she also worked in the marketing and public relations departments for Headquarters United States Army Europe, PBS, and Bright Beginnings, Inc.

While working at some of the most recognized organizations in the world Nicole developed and expanded her web, photography, marketing, public relations, and analytical skills. Nicole specializes in and places a great deal of emphasis on web and marketing analytics in her work. Data collected from marketing reports can be used to improve marketing processes, guide product development, and collect open source intelligence on competition. Throughout her career she has hosted various workshops on social media for government professionals and students. One of her recent workshops at Villanova University focused on the role of social media in Human Resources.

Nicole graduated from George Washington University with a Bachelors degree in Journalism and Mass Communications. While excelling in academics, Nicole worked on the school newspaper and served on the executive board for the community service organization Alpha Phi Omega. In 2010, she received the President's Volunteer Service Award for volunteering throughout the D.C. community.
